Fort Casey, een afgelegen buitenpost van de Federatie, wordt aangevallen door insecten. Het team op het snelle aanvalsschip Alesia wordt aangewezen om John A. Warden, die gestationeerd is in Fort Casey, te evacueren en de overlevenden veilig terug te brengen naar de aarde. Carl Jenkins, Minister van Paranormale Oorlogsvoering, neemt het ruimteschip mee op een clandestiene missie voordat hij de Alesia ontmoet, maar raakt vermist in een nevel. Nu worden de soldaten belast met een missie die kan leiden tot een nog onheilspellender afloop dan ze ooit hadden kunnen voorspellen.
